WELCOME TO THE
HOUSE OF LES BENJAMINS
To celebrate the freedom of love this year, KOMITTE gathered eleven well known LGBTQ+ figures and celebrities of Turkey for this celebratory video experience. We directed them remotely via FaceTime and Zoom in their most colourful outfits from Les Benjamins.
Our inspiration comes from the Voguing trend that emerged in the New York underground dance world. As a soundtrack, we preferred to use old and traditional Turkish music, which has been re-composed with disco tunes and modern touch by Osman İşmen. Thus, we wanted to combine a globally known dance trend with a local feeling.
As Komitte, we created all stages of this project from A to Z, from the initial idea to the broadcast stage. We also thank Les Benjamins for providing us with this free space.
